ART SAFARI: an architectural and cultural gem of Bucharest

Specialized in the creation of art exhibition pavilions, Art Safari is the largest artistic conglomerate in Romania, which aims to recover heritage values and democratize access to art as well as educate the new generation.
The beginning of 2023 was marked by a large-scale inauguration celebrating the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great painter Ion Theodorescu-Sion (1882-1939) and opening the ball for its 11th edition which takes place from February 10th to May 14th. In a sumptuous and friendly set, you can admire the exhibitions in a different way: "O viață de poveste" Ion Theoorescu-Sion, focus on the French artistic scene and its most prestigious prize - Marcel Duchamp Prize with the exhibition "The Memory Palace", “Young Blood” by Mihai Zgondoiu and “The Masters of Spanish Painting, from Academicism to Impressionism”.
Bucharest Art Pavilion - Art Safari is placed in the Dacia-Romania Palace, located in the historical center of Bucharest. This emblematic monument is indeed steeped in history. Since the end of the 16th century, the place was a landmark in the region, under the name of "Ghiormei Banul Church" (Church of the Greeks), burnt down by the Turks in 1595 it will become an inn of the Greek monastery, after its restoration in 1719. After the demolition of the building, the land will be purchased by the Dacia-Romania insurance company which built its palace and headquarters there in 1889.
